Diamond Jubilee Celebrations - Sun 3rd to Tues 5th June 2012 |
Street Party – Tuesday 5th June 2012 |
Diamond Jubilee Bunting Challenge |
.We will be hanging out the bunting and getting into the spirit of what makes this country so wonderful by having great fun over the Diamond Jubilee weekend. Wander through our Jubilee Food and Craft Festival full of numerous local artisan producers and pick up some great British and ‘Empire’ products over the Monday and Tuesday. Kids can have lots of fun spinning plates, throwing the Diablo or juggling and more at our free Circus Workshop on the Sunday and Monday – suitable for kids of all ages! |
Join in the Street Party in our Edwardian cobbled courtyard on the Tuesday – we have a children’s entertainer playing music and setting the scene, he will host fun games including handkerchief knotting, pass the balloon, musical statues, etc, etc. We will also have a ball rolling competition along a date lined board starting with the Queen’s Coronation and ending with her Diamond Jubilee! There will be food and drink available in the courtyard for visitors to purchase, simply find a space on one of the many trestle tables and join in the party fun. (Only food purchased from the courtyard can be consumed at the Street Party). . |
In order to bring a real British and community spirit to our events we are bringing together local clubs, schools, organisations and individuals to help with our Bunting Challenge to make the longest stretch of Jubilee bunting in Cheshire. If you would like to join in our Bunting Challenge simply bring in your decorated pieces or pick up triangles from us to design and return to be added to the bunting displayed around the centre throughout the celebrations. To ensure as many people as possible can join in the challenge, you can also decorate pieces of bunting in Cheshire Craft Workshop, at Blakemere, on the run up to this event. So get bunting!! |
